Trip to the Harbor

I had a chance to go to the Harbor yesterday with my buddy Christof who is from Austria. It was pretty awesome, complete with many shops and restaurants as well as tons of boats. At part of orientation they had told us that New Zealand has the most boats per capita of any place in the world. It works out to be about 4 boats per family. The harbor is so big that I did not really get a chance to check out the whole thing, but I am sure I will go back down and check it out more later, as it's only about 10 minutes from where I live.

There I am down by the harbor

After checking out the harbor we checked out Victoria Market, and Victoria Park. I managed to get about a months worth of groceries for about $NZ 60. To my amazement I even managed to find some milk-free butter.

I also had a chance to met some students who live a few floors below me from New Zealand. They are on the schools Rugby team. They taught me a lot about the game of Rugby. There is an All Blacks Game on July 21 vs. Australia which I think I am going to buy tickets too. Australia is the All Blacks main rival, so the game should be like the equivilent of the Oswego Laker's vs. Geneseo, but on a much larger scale.
