Kia Ora

Welcome to my blog. Be sure to check back here if you are interested in learning about all of the exciting adventures, and other interesting parts about my time spent in New Zealand.

The airplane ride to New Zealand was my first ever time on an airplane. I was a bit nervous about it at first, but after the first little trip from Albany to Washington the rest of the trip was not as bad. Once I got to Washington, I made my way to the next airplane which was headed out to LAX in Los Angeles. That plane was a little bit larger, and I liked it more than the one from Albany to Washington.

That plane ride seemed pretty long, but I spent a good portion of it sleeping. Once I arrived in LA I had a 9 hour wait before I had to get on the plane headed to Washington.

It was a long long wait, but I finally boarded the plane, and prepared for the long journey across the Pacific. It just so happened to be sitting next to a student from San Deigo, California named Travis who was also going to be attending AUT and also who was going to be living in WSA. This made the plane ride a lot easier, as me and him chatted for quite a bit of the trip. It also made it a lot nicer because I had already made a friend before arriving in New Zealand. Me and him meet up with two other Americans at Auckland International who were also going to be living in WSA, and the 4 of us split the cost of a shuttle bus to the WSA building.

It was 6am in the morning when we arrived, so in order to beat Jet Lag we had to stay awake all day. We did this by exploring the city extensively. The city was bigger then I had expected. So far it seems that everyone here is very nice.

Here are a few photos I took during the plane ride, and also the first days adventures of the city.
